I did not like having company when the house was a mess and my son did not NOT like having company so the best solution for all involved was to have him clean things up when he wanted friends over.

Not Her!

I’ll never forget the time our son brought home this real “gem”. She was dressed in all black, had seven rings in her nose and smelled horribly of cigarette smoke and some other odour I just couldn’t quite put my finger on oddly enough I was a little afraid not to be nice to her in fears she would put some sort of hex on my cat.

Coming from a conservative home his taste in women perplexed me but I did learn a few tricks during that time. Never say “Not her!” That just makes them want to see her more which is never good.

If you really want to nip that relationship in the bud invite her over for a family dinner. Don’t say a word. Let your son see firsthand how she clashes with the rest of the family. Then, ask to get together with their parents in a “family dinner” at their place. Accepting the girlfriend really fries their little brains and better yet, inviting over the attractive, sweet and charming neighbor’s daughter doesn’t hurt anything either.
